Local body elections will be held on 11th October 2025

The election cycle for local council elections is currently 3 years. Our last elections were in 2022, therefore our next elections are coming up! To get prepared, make sure you are enrolled, learn about candidates and rally your whānau and friends to vote too. 

Where will I vote?

Those who are enrolled to vote, will receive their voting papers via mail. This is why it is important to make sure you are enrolled BEFORE the election date, and that your details are up to date with the Electoral Commission.

You will be required to fill your voting papers in, and return them via mail or to your local council office.
